WHY THIS MATTERS

Your location changed.

Your survival patterns didn't.

A new country can offer more freedom, space, and possibility. But the ways you learned to protect yourself can follow you there.

You keep repeating it

You moved to create freedom but you still notice yourself responding in a familiar way—even when you know it is no longer helping you.

You understand it, but still feel stuck

You may know why you do what you do, but insight alone has not changed what happens in the moment.

You're ready to respond differently

You want to understand what is happening beneath the pattern and make a choice that feels more like you.

THE SOFT LANDING INTENSIVE

A guided afternoon to recognize what’s happening, reconnect with yourself, and choose what comes next.

Support created with Black women abroad in mind

I’m Tori Prophet, a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in women’s transitions.

I help Black women living abroad interrupt the survival patterns they carried into their new lives—including over-functioning, hyper-independence, overthinking, and self-abandonment—so they can rest without guilt, receive support without apology, and make choices rooted in their own desires.

When I saw how often Black women living abroad were left without culturally responsive mental health support, I knew I had to do something about it. I created Soft Landing to offer a culturally responsive space where you can recognize what is happening beneath the surface, reconnect with what you need, and move forward without having to explain or justify your experience.

My work is informed by grounding practices, neuroscience, Brainspotting, trauma-responsive care, and seven years of experience supporting women through meaningful life transitions.

FROM SOFT LANDING CIRCLE

What women have experienced inside Tori’s Soft Landing work

“I have more emotional and nervous system regulation tools that can serve me for the rest of my life and empower me to address any obstacles, both internal and external, that I may run into.”

Mimi, Soft Landing Circle Participant

“It’s been valuable in that I have had to stop and think about what I need when that is not normally something that I do. This circle also provided a safe space to do so.”

THE DETAILS

One day.

One live, intimate space.

One clear next step.

A focused space to step out of the noise, recognize what is asking for your attention, and leave clear about what comes next.

An intensive gives you the time and guided support to stay with one meaningful question long enough to recognize the pattern beneath it, hear what you need, and identify a grounded way forward—without trying to solve everything at once.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The Soft Landing Intensive is a therapist-led educational and reflective group experience. It is not psychotherapy, does not establish a therapist-client relationship, and is not a substitute for individualized mental health care. The Intensive focuses on recognizing patterns, building awareness, practicing grounding tools, and identifying one grounded next step—not diagnosing or treating mental health conditions.

This experience is not appropriate for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis or needing immediate clinical support. In that situation, please contact a qualified mental health professional or local emergency service in your area.

The Intensive is for Black women living abroad who recognize that patterns such as over-functioning, hyper-independence, emotional containment, or overthinking are making it harder to fully receive the life they moved to create. It is designed for women who want focused guidance and reflection, not only information.

No. While this experience is designed primarily for Black women currently living outside the United States, it may also be a fit if you are actively preparing to relocate and already navigating the emotional and identity shifts connected to moving abroad.

You will be invited to reflect and participate, but you will never be required to disclose anything you would prefer to keep private. You may share at the level that feels appropriate for you.

Participants are asked to respect the privacy of everyone in the space and not share another participant’s personal information outside the Intensive. Because this is a group experience, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in the same way it can in individual therapy. You are always encouraged to share only what feels appropriate for you.

The Intensive will not be recorded in order to protect the privacy of the women participating. Because this is a live, interactive experience, you will need to attend at the scheduled time. If you are unable to attend, please review the cancellation policy below.

After the Intensive, you will receive a guided integration workbook and seven days of email support to help you reflect on what you recognized and follow through on your next step.

No. Your registration includes the live Intensive and the post-Intensive integration support described on this page. Soft Landing Circle is a separate twelve-week experience. Intensive participants may apply their full $297 investment toward Circle enrollment if they continue within seven days.

Yes. You may enroll directly through this page. A conversation with me is not required before joining the Intensive.

You may request a full refund through September 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Central. After that deadline, payments are nonrefundable because your place has been reserved in this limited-capacity experience.

If you can no longer attend after the refund deadline, you may transfer your place to another eligible participant by contacting us before the Intensive begins. Missed sessions and no-shows are not eligible for a refund. If the Intensive is canceled by the facilitator, you will receive a full refund.

The Intensive is limited to 12 women to preserve the intimacy of the experience and allow space for meaningful reflection and facilitated conversation.

You are allowed to create a life that feels as good as it looks.

Take one afternoon to recognize what is keeping you braced and choose a more grounded way forward.
